C.E.O 2.0 ceremoniously marked its grand finale on 23rd of July 2023 by celebrating the achievements of its winners and finalists. The large-scale business case study competition, organized by AIESEC in University of Kelaniya in collaboration with AIESEC in Informatics Institute of Technology and Uva Wellassa University, officially commenced its journey in June. After two workshop sessions, a Q & A session, and a mentoring session for the finalists, only three teams were able to claim the titles: the Winner, First runner-up, and Second runner-up of the competition.

 

 

Commencing the Day

 

The award ceremony unfolded with lightening the oil lamp as per the tradition. Then Imesh Adikari, an Event Manager of C.E.O 2.0 warmly welcomed the audience to witness the achievements of young people. The auditorium of Ragama Medical Faculty was prepared with its audience eager to witness the champions of C.E.O 2.0. The day then began amidst the applause of the admirers of Gen Z.

 

Insights from Industry Experts

Experienced individuals guide young people to conquer the corporate world. The invaluable speeches of incredible people who joined the awarding ceremony proved thus.

 

Mr. Mushthaq Idroos, the Co-Founder of Loku Business, emphasized how content creation leads its way towards entrepreneurship. Loku Business was founded to make entrepreneurship education accessible and affordable for Sri Lankans in Sinhala Language. In his role as an expert in the field, Mr. Mushthaq Idroos further explained how the mode of content opens doors to new opportunities and connections.

 

 

Mr. Ajith Pasqual, the CEO of Paraqum Technologies, delivered another invaluable speech of the day. Paraqum Technologies was the Official Title Partner of C.E.O 2.0. Paraqum is a network product manufacturer specializing in network intelligence and control. In addition to their network products, they offer a wide range of high-end electronic design solutions tailored to customer specifications. Mr. Pasqual underscored the importance of business sustainability in his speech, sharing his vision of establishing a global brand from Sri Lanka. Furthermore, he provided comprehensive feedback on the contestants’ evaluation round, encouraging them on their path to potentially becoming future CEOs.

 

Mr. Mus’ab Nalir, the Founder of Volunteer Nation and Head of Mega Campaigns at Daraz, in his speech, emphasized the importance of cultivating the right mindset before taking any action. His words, which highlighted the significance of building confidence to break free from fear that hinders success, served as an inspiring message for the future CEOs in the audience.

 

 

The Official Educational Partner of C.E.O 2.0, Agape Education, is a student-focused, result and strategy-driven consultancy and student migration company committed to the principles of creative excellence. Mr. Travis Isuru, the principal consultant at Agape education extended his support and guidance to students who are willing to study in Malaysia while also congratulating the winners of C.E.O 2.0.

The Team IdeaGenZ emerged as the champions of C.E.O 2.0. The team with four innovative and outstanding members – Dewmith Kiriella, Shehan Silva, Mohamed Hashir Halaldeen, and Rivin Jayasuriya – from NSBM, SLIIT and IIT won the competition. The First Runner-up, The Team Tomorrow, with its five members – Nurasha Dewasinghe, Shashini Uthpala, Udith Karunaratne, Nadun Kumara, and Gayani Amarasinghe – from University of Jaffna, secured the second place through their hard work coupled with their passion. The Team Zyndicate, with another five hard working innovative individuals – Pavith Rajapaksha, Shamika Tissera, Dilshan Hettiarachchi, Rajitha Madushan and Sajee Rodrigo, from University of Kelaniya was the second runner up of the competition.

Team Future CEOs – The Most Engaging Team

Moreover, Team Future CEOs with Mohammed Huzni Hussain, Aysha Banu Ansar, Saina Banu Nizar, G.K.C. Hansani and Himas Faizal from SLIIT emerged as the most engaging team of C.E.O 2.0 by showcasing their enthusiasm and engagement throughout the competition.

 

 

End of another inspiring journey

 

The journey drew closer to its conclusion with Nirupama Madhavi, Organizing Committee President of C.E.O 2.0, extending her heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to everyone—those in the spotlight and those working behind the scenes—for their contributions in making C.E.O 2.0 a success.

Accordingly, a journey designed to provide young individuals with an official glimpse into the corporate world concluded. The lessons learned and memories created during this experience will undoubtedly serve as a compass, guiding these young individuals on a life journey where passion, potential, and hard work converge to excel in the world of business.
