“The most important role of a leader is to set a clear direction, be transparent about how to get there and to stay the course.”

Irene Rosenfeld

Transparency is essential in leadership to achieve a specific goal with clear guidance. Do you think transparency and openness are unnecessary within a team or organization?

Do you think transparency is a style of boasting and oversharing about the negativity to other members?

Transparency is not about showcasing everything to the external and internal environment. Certainly, it is all about building a trustworthy and dedicated team with honesty and openness to achieve the target. Therefore, it has become one of the core essences in leadership. Further, it will allow a friendly customer and employee environment without corruption inside and outside your organization.

Who is a leader?

Generally, a leader is one who guides, develops, and inspires all other individuals to do their best to achieve the specific objective. Through that, other members’ leadership qualities need to be brought out for the betterment of the team or an organization, isn’t it?

For instance, imagine a situation where you are asked to say your opinions and feedback in a meeting or a conversation and a situation where you are not getting a chance to express ideas or suggestions. In both cases, where did you feel the happiness?

All can expect the same kind of answer, that members will feel happy when our opinions are considered and involved in the meetings. Because of that, individuals will become more enthusiastic about working and keep us self-motivated. That’s where transparency becomes more critical in leadership.

Transparency will open the path to creativity, new solutions, and new ways of viewing the problem and clarifying the goal. On the other hand, if we don’t have clarity, it will cause many disputes within the team and consume more time. Transparency can build trust among the members; because of that, renowned leader Dalai Lama stated that “A lack of transparency results in distrust and a deep sense of insecurity.”

Do you know what transparency is?

Transparency is all about honesty and genuine engagement with other people. Meanwhile, to develop the team’s interior, a leader needs to be straightforward and open with other members without hiding and seeking strategies; it is vital to lead to new innovative ideas and creations. Also, feedback from coworkers and other members, whether it’s positive or negative, will help to improve the delivery of the work and help to achieve the goals without any disputes in the process. When we consider their feedback, they feel valued for their work, don’t they? As a result, it allows them to engage with self-satisfaction.

Leadership is not a position; it is a choice, and it’s your decision. Are you the one who is willing to change society with transparency to inspire and build leaders in your circle?
