Did you know that Nescafe used to be a drink for the U.S. Military during the Second World War? Interesting right? It was one of the U.S. military’s staple drinks. However, Today, Nescafe is one of the most popular products from Nestle. 

So here’s how it all began. Having its main roots dating back to 1886, Nestlè is a world-renowned Food & Beverage Processing Conglomerate that laid its roots in Sri Lanka in the year 1906. Celebrating over 100 years in Sri Lanka, Nestlè has indeed never failed to provide Good Food and Good Life to all of its stakeholders. 

Nestlè CEO, Mr. Ulf Mark Schneider launching its Global Youth Initiative in 2017 said that “By 2030 we want to help 10 million young people worldwide access economic opportunities”. From an initiative that launched globally, we see the passion that drives this organization to empower future leaders in order to create a better tomorrow. 

A partnership that is built on the very principles of leadership development, corporate exposure, and skill upliftment, AIESEC Sri Lanka and Nestlè Lanka PLC joined hands in  2020 to create a more purposeful journey for our membership. 

The partnership took off with the Nestlè YouthSpeak Forum which was organized and catered to tackle the topic of “Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure” as well as “Climate Action” which are the Sustainable Development Goals number 9 and 13 respectively. 

A wide variety of experts attended the session to give us viewers the understanding needed in order to be innovative and contribute positively to the environment around us.

Following this impactful touchpoint, we were together able to uplift our Local Leadership Body through the Nestlè Leaders’ League virtual session which focused on introducing to the leaders of AIESEC the qualities and characteristics that make a successful leader. The participants were then able to engage with one another to discuss and understand each other which facilitated a more interactive learning environment. 

 

Nestlè exists to serve one vision; “Good Food, Good Life”.  But, it is not able to do so, if not for the leaders that guide the organization to achieve that purpose and without a loyal and resilient set of employees who believe in the purpose of achieving what’s best for the greater good of humanity. This is why and how we connect. In our journey to achieve “Peace & Fulfillment of Humankind’s Potential”, together we provide our membership the nutrients of leadership that helps them create a good life story that empowers the youth of the world to achieve cross-cultural understanding.
