Freedom, Equality, and Justice are fundamental principles of a democratic society. But no matter how basic and essential they are, in reality, not everyone will be able to enjoy them. There are marginalized groups in society whose human rights and fundamental rights are being violated. That’s where Lanka Fundamental Rights Organization comes in.

Lanka Fundamental Rights Organization operates to ensure that everybody has access to freedom, equality, and justice. Their members are the watchdogs that keep governments and bureaucrats accountable to the citizens they are supposed to represent. They are the activists who bring to light companies that do not run responsibly.

Lanka Fundamental Rights Organization was founded by Mr.E.M.B.Daniel initially as Lanka Human Rights for Children and Elders in 2017. By that time, it was incorporated as a company. Later on, they decided to cancel the incorporation and registered under NGO Secretariat with the name of Lanka Fundamental Rights Organization in May 2018.

Being a responsible organization that wishes to see a better future for everyone, Lanka Fundamental Rights Organization encourage volunteers to actively engage in ensuring the Human Rights of children and Elders, create awareness about the impact of human rights, improve economic and social conditions of children, assist children with their education, promote medical camps, assist environment protection, and many more.

Lanka Fundamental Rights Organization will be joining hands with AIESEC offering young enthusiastic, and passionate individuals to volunteer and help the people in need. By doing so, they will be the opportunity provider for “Hearbeat”; a volunteer project launched by the AIESEC in University of Sri Jayawardenapura to ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for every age group in Sri Lanka.

Lanka Fundamental Rights Organization will be providing accommodation to AIESEC exchange participants for a maximum number of 16 participants. Plus, they will be delivering sessions and activities to exchange participants covering a minimum working period of 25 hours for six weeks during the project period.

One of the critical objectives of Lanka Fundamental Rights Organization is to ensure the well-being of the community. And with this alliance with AIESEC, they will be able to get the passionate leaders of the young generation to broaden their scope of work.
