Thinkwave is the first-ever open ideathon for school students and university undergraduates islandwide organized by AIESEC in University of Moratuwa. In line with our objectives, we initiated the ideathon Thinkwave to create a platform for youth to demonstrate and develop their innovative ideas and entrepreneurial enthusiasm with the insight of industry specialists while developing their leadership and entrepreneurship skills. This ideathon focuses on entrepreneurship and how these innovative business solutions can pave the way to achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

This competition was launched last year under the Incoming Global Volunteer function, Project Entrepreneur, organized by AIESEC in University of Moratuwa, with foreign volunteers, school students, university students, and industry specialists.

In partnership with BOC, team Thinkwave has introduced future AIESEC Membership as a leadership development opportunity, facilitating inner and outer journey with spaces addressing AIESEC Leadership Development Qualities, planned attractions for Experiential Leadership Development (ELD) products of the entity were the covered areas during the Thinkwave 2.0 sessions.

Abiding by the ultimate objective of Thinkwave, we were able to light up the paths of flourishing entrepreneurs in Sri Lanka. We hope to deliver the finalists an experience worth a lifetime. The success we witness today under Thinkwave will be the same as seen in the years to come, as AIESEC in University of Moratuwa keeps continuing the partnership with Bank of Ceylon, driven by its mission;  “to provide innovative financial services to the nation with global access while enhancing value to the stakeholders” in context.
