AIESEC in Sri Lanka took the step of initiating a School Expansion Board in 2021 with the hopes of expanding the leadership opportunities we deliver to the school students. School Expansion Board is responsible for the expansion establishment in schools in Sri Lanka and supervision of the LEAD Club program. It consists of both current AIESEC members and AIESEC alumni who want to directly contribute to the national plenary. The main responsibility consists of monitoring and boosting the operational performances of the school expansions – LEAD Clubs through a systematic approach and following them up through growth paths.
LEAD Clubs is an initiative aimed at developing young leaders in Sri Lanka between the ages of 15 – 19. Our main aim is to expand the impact of youth leadership while offering an opportunity to develop themselves at a fairly young age. The Program was created after contacting several stakeholders – presidents from entities, alumni, and externals representing various backgrounds.
LEAD Club program is well planned with project initiatives for students, legalities, and policies to ensure the best membership experience for the school students in Sri Lanka.
Currently, as of May 2022, AIESEC in Sri Lanka has successfully initiated LEAD Clubs in LEEDs International School Panadura, and Holy Family Convent – Kalutara and is in the process of initiating in Hillwood College Kandy, Sussex College Rathnapura, Lexicon College Kurunegala, Vidyartha College Kandy, Cambridge College Kotakala, and Highlands College Hatton.
If any school is interested in initiating a LEAD Club in their school as well, anyone is welcome to contact the members of School Expansion Board 21.22 through the below-mentioned contact numbers. The proposal of the initiative or a meeting can be scheduled for further discussion as well.
