“Excellentia” is the annual awards ceremony of AIESEC in University of Colombo, organized to celebrate the commitment, passion, hard work, and achievements of our very own CCers.
Excellentia 2022 took place virtually on January 28th, with over a 150 delegation, and was a huge success.
Throughout the night, the deserving AIESECers were presented with honors in the presence of both the departing and incoming Executive Boards. During Excellentia 2022, the emotional yet beautiful transition between the Executive boards took place which was a remarkable moment of the night. The evening was brightened by fantastic performances from our own AIESEC Entity
.
The event started with our hosts inviting the chief guest for the day, Prof. Chandrika Wijeyrathne, and our guest of honor Prof. Inoka Perera. Then our very own LCP Sandeshi Bandaranayake welcomed the guests and the night began. Various awards for the hardworking and talented nominees were introduced to the audience. Many CCers were presented awards such as the best in their front office functions as well as the back-office functions.
The first performer for the night, Thiranja performed afterward. Not to forget, many other awards like best in Ewa, Excellence in different functions such as OGX B2B, International Relations, External Relations, and Matching were also awarded. The team awards were presented for all the successful events that were planned throughout the year. Then the Exchange Participants were recognized. Then the Member Committee president, Mr. Banuka Hathurusinghe, delivered an inspiring speech to the audience. The second performer for the night was Tharushi, who delivered a powerful performance. Then the individuals who took their brave steps to take their own leadership experiences and performed with flying colors were too awarded with titles such as Best Young Leader and Best Organizing Committee President.
One of the main eye-catching segments of the event was the fun award session. Is AIESEC just a place with work? That’s a big NO! Well, this was the best segment to prove that. Many titles like Best sleeping beauty, Best 5-year-old, and many more fun awards were awarded. The best part of this was letting the audience vote for every nominee. So the CCers got the chance to choose who was the most suitable for the title.

There was another team that has been instrumental in making Excellentia 2022 a success. They were none other than the partners of the event who supported in various ways from the beginning to the end of the event. The organizing committee vice presidents for external relations were able to raise 11 partnerships for the events and these partnerships fall into four categories: “Elite Partners”, “Educational Partners”, “Event Partners” and “Gift Partners”. Accordingly, two outstanding companies in Sri Lanka, Abans, and Hatchyard came to the front as “Elite Partners”. By providing educational support, Imperial College of Business Studies (ICBS) which is a leading Business School in Sri Lanka joined hands with Excellentia 2022 as the official educational partner. Also, four other leading companies in Sri Lanka, namely, ECC Global Sri Lanka, Matrix Institute of Information Technology (Pvt) Ltd, Metropolitan, and AIBT Campus Sri Lanka joined Excellentia 2022 as “Event partners”. Bison Sports, Wemora, and Odix.heal partnered up with the event as the gift partners of Excellentia 2022.
All in all Excellentia 22’ was a night of emotions where many went home feeling appreciated and excited for the next term. The organizing committee for Excellentia 2022, together with the Executive Board, worked hard to ensure that the event was a huge success, and the delegates were incredibly interactive and present throughout the event.
